Role Title – Associate ESG Account SpecialistGrade (for internal purposes) – 9Location – New York, NYThe Role: As Associate ESG Account Specialist, you are responsible for assisting the selling of a portfolio of ESG products to current and target customers at large multinational corporations, private companies, academic institutions, and/or governments. You will collaborate with the ESG Account Specialist team and other groups within S&P Global Marketing Intelligence, The Climate Service, and elsewhere in the company.The Team: Sustainable1 is S&P Global’s centralized source for sustainability intelligence. As a member of the team, you will have a key role in enabling S&P Global’s ESG business growth across all divisions.Responsibilities, specific to each portion of the team :Strategic ESG Account Specialist Support: Pre-saleso Responding to client queries – methodology questions, data coverage, etco Help develop sales proposals / pitch deckso Supporting RFP requestso Proposal development, first pass completion of pricing scoping sheet Post Sales of datao Coordinating trainings with client engagement specialisto Supports account and relationship management activities with existing clients.Regional ESG Specialist Support Pre-saleso Help develop sales proposals / pitch deckso Supporting RFP requestso Lead routingo Proposal development, first pass completion of pricing scoping sheeto Salesforce – reporting and opportunity managemento Client Examples - Management of central repository of how our clients have used our data/analyticso Substitute for diagnostic sales calls (when someone is on leave) Account Managemento Supports account and relationship management activities with existing large clients.o Preparing client specific presentation slides to support delivery meetingso Liaising with the project managers to schedule kick offsWhat We’re Looking For:Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree with courses relevant to sustainability Understanding of the global ESG landscape and sustainable finance marketplace, including key drivers and trends that are shaping the ESG marketplace Awareness of corporate risks and opportunities associated with climate, water and biodiversity Excellent verbal and written communication skills Personable, enjoy networking and meeting new people Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a positive “can do” attitude Proficiency in MS Office, PowerPoint, Excel and Salesforce.comPreferred Qualifications: A sharp intellect, commercial acumen, creative approach to problem solving in a new and innovative industry and an entrepreneurial attitude Understanding how financial markets operate, and also in particular how multinational corporations are evaluating and incorporating ESG and climate issues in their decision-making Knowledge of corporate business processes and how ESG issues create company value or avoid risk. Understanding of corporate environmental sustainability best practices, in particular related to ESG disclosure, supply chain and supplier ESG risks, and accounting for environmental and social impacts. Understanding of evolving ESG-related regulations, current and emerging reporting frameworks which may include Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Greenhouse Gas Protocol, environmental markets and carbon pricing and voluntary reporting initiatives such as CDP and DJSI. Understanding of some of the following: ESG risk and opportunity analysis by investors and banks, corporations, Portfolio climate risk assessment and TCFD reporting, use of environmental data in financial products, corporate sustainability strategy and performance, environmental profit & loss accounts. 2+ years of experience in a new business sales role or account management role with targets or management consulting to corporate companiesReturn to WorkHave you taken time out for caring responsibilities and are now looking to return to work?
