Automated Testing Engineer (Java/Selenium)

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Automated Testing Engineer (Java/Selenium) for a Contract assignment with one of our premier Financial Services clients in New York, NY. Due to client requirements, all candidates for this position MUST be s or Permanent Residents of the USA w/ at least 3 years of residency We can only engage on a w2 hourly basis for this position - we cannot do any c2c engagement All candidates must be fully vaccinated and prepared to return to at least partial onsite work in downtown NYC in 2022 Responsibilities :

• Responsible for developing and executing detailed test plans, including defining the scope of and approach for functional and non-functional testing via automation in Java / Selenium/API that is appropriate for various releases of Payments products.
• Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement that brings knowledge consistency and spreads best practices across the QE Chapter. Identify and implement advanced Quality Engineering principles proactively to improve product delivery quality on a continuous basis.
• Responsible for mainly designing and implementing automation test strategies and writing automation test cases for current regression set and for new releases as applicable.
• Devise and influence test strategies for mission critical systems and implement comprehensive test coverage for changes that require testing efforts to span across multiple products and squads.
• Understand complex business and functional requirements and provide direction to a small team of quality engineers in designing technical test cases that thoroughly test the tech stack and meet the product requirements.
• Analyze product backlogs, create and execute test cases, document results, manage priorities, and maintain continuous communication with all stakeholders
• Promote innovation and evolution of quality engineering techniques, test automation technologies and ensure pervasive quality in product development.
• Drive Agile adoption and find opportunities for gaining efficiencies in quality practices, thereby reducing end-to-end testing cycle times for mission critical applications.

• 10+ years of experience in the field of Software Quality Assurance and Testing specifically in automation of applications.
• 5+ years of experience in Agile cross-functional teams and iterative development methodologies, with extensive experience delivering solutions across different technical environments.
• 4+ years of RDBMS and SQL experience.
• Experience with Jenkins and Selenium Grid for continuous testing.
• Demonstrated ability in shifting testing to left to create a fast feedback loop for Quality
• Experienced in reviewing and writing Unit Tests and collaborating with Developers and Business stakeholders
• Experienced and well versed in test automation of applications that use rest apis
• Knowledge of Payment Systems.
• Excellent written and verbal skills with ability to present ideas in a business and user-friendly language.
• Strong understanding of risk-based test strategy preparation based on all stories and non-functional requirements of mission critical systems.
• Ability to adapt to continually changing priorities and evolving delivery schedules.
• Solid understanding of, and experience in, Behavior Driven Development (BDD), Test Driven Development (TDD), defining enterprise-wide standards for product quality, establishing and managing KPIs for the Quality in our products.
• Solid comprehension, training, and experience in leveraging dynamic test environments, cloud technologies, test data management strategies and test infrastructure design

• Prior development experience in Java/API is a plus
