We are seeking an

AVP, SAP Solution Architect to join our Global Finance Team in our NYC, Purchase, NY, or Florham Park, NJ office. This position is a key business interfacing role that has technical and business specific expertise and provides oversight and coordination across a portfolio of solutions being developed for the Finance function. The AVP, SAP Business Solution Design is responsible for the research, analyses, design, and proposal of SAP solutions that are optimal for the business and IT strategies. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker who is able to independently translate general business requirements into technical SAP solutions and ensure these solutions align to the strategic vision of the Finance function.

Responsibilities
  • Functional experience leading solutions for SAP ECC, SAP HANA, SAP Fiori and various SAP industry specific Finance modules
  • Serving as a subject matter expert to executive leadership and process owners on a range of SAP best practice solutions and technologies
  • Working with the business to define technology roadmaps to achieve a global standard SAP platform.
  • Conducting design workshops and requirements gathering sessions with a cross functional team of stakeholders from the business, IT, and finance.
  • Ensuring that SAP solutions meet business needs along with functional and non-functional requirements
  • Driving the definition, optimization, improvement, and approved changes to new and existing business processes and IT solutions via development of business and functional requirements.
  • Working with and guiding the IT team to develop technical solutions
  • Supporting the development of technical specification documents
  • Building influential partnering relationships with global stakeholders from Finance, IT and the business
  • Ability to socialize ideas, make recommendation and gather team consensus to solve SAP platform problems
  • Understanding emerging technologies and improvement to the SAP suite of products and be proactive to learn and recommend solutions

Desired Skills & Experience
  • At least 5+ years’ of directly relevant SAP solution experience.
  • Expertise in SAP FS-CD and SAP GL modules
  • Strong background in the P&C insurance and or reinsurance industry
  • Needs to understand business processes, process analysis/management, and their related IT requirements.
  • Engaging confidently with senior level managers/executives and build strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Operating across multiple geographies and cultures
  • Influencing teams to develop a global standard
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills with an ability to effectively manage cross-functional team discussions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral/presentation and written communication skills in both technical and non-technical language
  • Organized, highly motivated and driven self-starter with ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as part of a high performing team
  • Current on SAP technologies and certifications
  • Strong management skills with an ability to achieve results in a matrix management environment
Salary Range: $140,000– $185,000Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experienceAt Sompo International, we recognize that the talent, skills, and commitment of our employees drive our success.
