Azure/Citrix Desktop Engineer

TIAA’s Global Infrastructure Services (GIS) team is responsible for all architecture, engineering and infrastructure operations of our core technology assets as part of a streamlined, strategic approach that ensures low-cost, high-quality delivery from initial architectural decisions through engineering to long-term operational support. The GIS team collaborates closely with our business-aligned partners in technology and with key stakeholders across the enterprise.As a Citrix Engineer/Azure Desktop Engineer, you will have the opportunity to focus on the engineering and operations of our on-premises and cloud virtual desktop and application environment. Your role will be responsible for updating the next generation of our virtual computing infrastructure leveraging Citrix Cloud and Public cloud technologies. Your work will have a direct impact on elevating the firm’s productivity beyond current levels and in line with our developing on-premises and Cloud operating model. This position collaborates to develop operational plans, processes, and standards aimed at advancing the organization's technology architecture.Key Responsibilities and Duties

This Engineer will focus on supporting the following technologies:

o Citrix Cloudo Azure Virtual Desktops

Work with business partners and platform owners to determine their functional needs, translating needs into public/private cloud solutions for existing or new on premises desktop/application workloads.

Improves and automates tasks associated with deploying, managing, supporting, transitioning workloads to the cloud.

Participate in functional or user acceptance testing to ensure final products meets the customer's needs.

Conduct technical exchange meetings and mentor other engineers.

Provide project management for specific projects.

Provide advice, guidance, and direction to carry out plans and procedures, ensuring schedule attainment, product development process adherence and performance.

Create test plans, installation guides, and documentation as needed.

Develop implementation and support plans through migration from POC / lab through test and ultimately to production environments.

Work with established configuration and change management policies to ensure successful infrastructure changes.

Provide last tier support for operations and support teams, including root cause analysis and preventative analysis.

Qualifications & Experience Required

Minimum of 3 years hands on experience working Citrix Virtual Desktops and engineering, designing, developing, and implementing end user computing solutions.

Minimum of 1-2 years hands on experience working with Azure Virtual Desktops.

Experience with creating standards and policies, monitoring and upgrading the Citrix environment.

Citrix Cloud design/implementation experience preferred.

Certification or experience with Azure, Cloud Security Certification, Administrator Certification a plus.

Demonstrable experience with Microsoft Azure, FsLogix, GPO, Active Directory and PowerShell.

Experience on Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, RDP, TCP/IP, VPN, SSLVPN.

Three or more years of current Citrix architecture/engineering experience leveraging tools such as Citrix XenDesktop 7.x, Citrix XenApp 7.15+, Citrix StoreFront, Citrix Netscaler 10.x, 11.x, 12.x

Azure certifications preferred.

Experience with open-source technology, software development and system engineering.

Experience in process/administration automation including scripting with PowerShell.

Azure certifications preferred.
