Job Summary:

At Potters Table Bakery, we lovingly make hand-rolled flatbreads, crackers, cookies, and gluten-free products that highlight the bounty of the Catskills. We are looking for a motivated team to grow with us. Our apprenticeship is a fantastic opportunity to learn on the job while getting to work with many different aspects of our small but rapidly growing bakery. You will be assisting the baker and head baker and learning as you go.

Responsibilities:

● Assist in the preparation of baked goods.

● Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes.

● Operate basic baking equipment under supervision.

● Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

● Learn and adhere to food safety and sanitation standards.

● Support bakers with various tasks as needed.

● Package baked goods for distribution.

● Participate in training and development opportunities.

Qualifications:

● Detail-oriented and reliable.

● Ability to stand on your feet for eight hours a day.

● Ability to multitask and work quickly and independently.

● Understand the importance of health and hygiene.

● Attention to detail and math proficiency.

● Regularly lift and move ingredient bags of 50+ pounds.

● Must be able to work overtime as needed.

● Flexibility to work reasonable hours, usually 10am-4pm.

Commitment:

We ask for a minimum commitment of 2-3 days/week (4-6 hrs a day). The right candidate can easily work this into a full-time position with room for growth.
