BioPharma Services (BPS) Laboratory AssistantOmniSeq by Labcorp is looking for a Biopharma (BPS) Specimen Accessioner to join our team in Buffalo, NY. The BPS Specimen Accessioner receives Biopharma and research testing material in the laboratory; accessions and routes testing material to appropriate areas; requests samples from laboratories and performs timely follow up; tracks materials sent to and received from referral laboratories; assists with quality assurance activities; inventory management.Primary DutiesReceives and accessions Biopharma laboratory testing material within various laboratory information management system(s) utilizing appropriate blood/body fluid precautionsStores biopharma laboratory samples maintaining the integrity of the physical/electronic inventoryPackages Biopharma material for delivery/return to referral testing laboratories in accordance with regulatory and HIPAA requirementsDestroys Biopharma specimens for in accordance with regulatory and HIPAA requirements while completing the required documentationMaintains files and stores relevant laboratory documentation in accordance with regulatory standards for required storage periods.Assures traceability of samples whether the study is for a clinical trial or batch research only testing.Provides details for Biopharma samples to the Order Entry and Clinical Operations team to ensure timely completion of testing per the individual Statements of WorkMaintains files and stores relevant laboratory documentation in accordance with regulatory standards for required storage periods.Keeps lab notebook up to date with project specific data entry requirementsProactively monitors new and/or existing projects and communicates with management as neededParticipates in laboratory quality assurance activitiesEnhances professional growth and development by participating in educational programs, reading current literature and participating in in-service meetings and workshops.Acts as on the job trainer for all aspects of this position for both new staff and competencyInstills a culture of continuous improvement, quality and productivity and leadsPerforms pre-analytical sample analysisAttends meetings as requiredFlexibility in performing other related duties as assigned or requestedRequirements:Education and Experience:Associates degree in healthcare discipline; preferred candidate will have Associate’s degree and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in a clinical or research setting requiring the use of medical/laboratory terminology; orHigh school diploma or G.E.D. and current enrollment in an approved BS program in Clinical Laboratory Technology; orHigh school diploma or G.E.D. and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience in a clinical or research setting requiring the use of medical/laboratory terminologySkillsDemonstrated excellence in task management and cross-functional collaborationExcellent communication skillsCompetency in Microsoft applicationsHourly rate: $21-25Benefits: All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
