IMMEDIATELY HIRING: Medical Laboratory Technologist (Evening Blood Bank) Seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Blood Bank Technologist to join our team. We have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift openings!As a Blood Bank Technologist, you will be responsible for the procurement, testing, and processing of blood components, as well as providing exceptional patient care and customer service to our clients. Perform various tasks related to the procurement, testing, and processing of blood components, including blood typing, cross-matching, and testing for infectious diseases
Work effectively in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and accuracy
Collaborate with laboratory team members to ensure timely and efficient processing of blood products
Develop and maintain strong relationships with hospital staff and clients to ensure excellent customer service
Participate in quality control activities, including proficiency testing and quality assessment
Maintain accurate records and reports of all testing and processing activities
Adhere to all applicable regulatory requirements and safety protocols
Participate in continuing education and training programs to stay current with industry developments and best practices
Requirements:
Associate's degree in Medical Technology or related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred
American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification or eligible to sit for exam (NICE TO HAVE)
6 months to 1 year of experience in a blood bank or medical laboratory setting preferred
Strong understanding of blood banking principles, procedures, and regulations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and accuracy
Familiarity with computerized laboratory information systems (LIS) a plus
Work Environment:
The Blood Bank Technologist will work in a dynamic laboratory setting with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, gowns, and masks.
