Bookkeeper Wanted for Small Commercial Real Estate Company

EGJS is a small commercial real estate managing company. We lease offices in Manhattan to a variety of tenants and we also have a design and manufacturing company in Brooklyn.

We are looking for a bookkeeper to manage two accounts. Beyond being a bookkeeper we are looking for someone who can give us advice on managing expenses, maintaining a calendar, and consulting us on tax deductions.

Responsibilities:

Conduct bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow to ensure accurate and timely financial transactions

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records

Prepare and process invoices and financial reports regularly and one-off needs such as bank loan reporting.

Update and ensure accurate leasing/tenant data in QuickBooks

Account for checks and vendor-processed payments and ensure precise payment/billing.

Assistance with Payroll.

Skills needed:

Strategic planner. Prepares for long-term goals and can anticipate accounting needs in advance. Plans, reminds, and follows up on items to be done.

Detail-oriented.

Strong problem-solving ability. Can manage upwards.

Pro-active mindset!

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements:

MUST have proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.

MUST have proficiency in QuickBooks bookkeeping software and Excel.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.

Excellent understanding of accounts payable and receivable processes, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.

Location: Brooklyn / Soho. We will want someone in person in Brooklyn twice a month

Hours: Part-time

Hourly Pay: $30/hr
