We are in search of a Business Development Officer for their Syracuse office that will involve some local travel to client businesses. This role requires a keen understanding of our industry, product offerings, and customer needs, and is instrumental in maintaining customer satisfaction and company performance.Responsibilities: Identify potential customers through various sources including referrals, networking, associations, business journals, and websites. Conduct thorough research on prospects, understanding their industry, product needs, structure, and potential for future business. Develop and execute effective first contact strategies and sales plans, establishing rapport with prospects. Serve as the primary point of contact for customer communication. Help maintain high levels of customer satisfaction for each account. Monitor company performance for quarterly reporting. Prepare quotation requests and RFPs for client review. Develop budgets, pricing strategies, and profit margins in alignment with internal resources. Forward approved client quotes to Sales Support for order entry and maintenance. Familiarize yourself with all contract agreements and perform site visits as necessary. Collaborate with the Credit and Collections team to secure customer deposits and resolve payment obstacles. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies. Keep management informed by submitting reports and project updates. Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, and delivery schedules. Contribute to team effort by supporting related goals. Maintain positive relationships with Architects & Designers through various channels.
