The Business Risk Group Manager – New Business Initiatives is accountable for management of complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas. This role will partner very closely with and be assigned to support Citi Wealth Business Leader(s) who sponsor and drive new business initiatives and expansion efforts. The role will play a key role in the design of the end to end solution with a particular focus on control design and scalability to support well-controlled business growth. The role requires very strong business sales, operations, strategy, Control and/or supervision experience, preferably in Wealth Management. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within Wealth Management and how they interact to achieve overall business objectives. The role will apply in-depth understanding of the business processes to assist in the design, stress testing and implementation of process and technology solutions. Strong commercial awareness is a necessity. Generally accountable for design and delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses areas or geographic regions. Requires very strong influence management and partnership skills. Excellent communication skills required to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication may be necessary. Accountable for the end results of an area. Exercises control over resources, policy formulation and planning.Responsibilities:Accountable for management of complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas.

Provides guidance, support and influence over multiple disciplinary areas to support business initiatives.Aligned to CWM teams (Sales Initiatives, Segment and Digital, Operations, Product and other areas) to cover both new business initiatives and expansion of existing products and services

Partner with CWM teams on end-to-end project design and execution with heightened focus on control design, risk identification and mitigation, and integrity of end-to end process

Proactive business impact assessment and streamline engagement with CBORC, other Control and second line partners

Help project team readiness for Citi governance forums (BCC/CPAC/DPAC/other)

Partner with USRB PM, CBORC and BCC teams to streamline and enhance Governance processes and clarify roles and responsibilities as needed

Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function.

Applies in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions. Strong commercial awareness is a necessity.

Generally accountable for delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses/ geographic regions.

Ensure that emerging risks identified, assessed, options for resolution identified and properly vetted and decisioned with key stakeholders and mitigation strategies are in place.

Identify areas of engagement based on level of investment, inherent risk, complexity of change and other risk factors

Execute Risk Control coverage strategy, ensure appropriate risk mitigation actions are in place and escalate to senior management as appropriate

Provide supervision of Risk Control team's efforts and assist with prioritizing and addressing roadblocks encountered

Leverage reporting to identify trends, themes and areas requiring improved controls

Drive Manager's Control Assessment monitoring, quarterly approvals and improvements required

Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:10+ years’ experience in Risk, process and/or people management

Excellent communication skills required to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication may be necessary.

Full management responsibility of a team or multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval.

This position requires active series 7, 63/65 (or 88), 9/10, (or 24) for supervision

Bilingual Spanish/English preferred but not required
