Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Buyer in Stony Brook, New York. The role will be focused on processing a full range of purchase orders for goods/services in line with procurement policies and procedures. The industry we operate in requires the use of various software and tools, and the workplace is dynamic, requiring constant interaction with different teams and vendors.Responsibilities: Review and process a complete range of purchase orders for goods and services according to procurement policies and procedures. Utilize ERP Solutions and CRM systems to manage and track purchase orders. Correct any errors that occur during the purchasing process to ensure smooth operations. Leverage software tools such as 3M and Coupa for efficient buying processes. Monitor and manage customer service inquiries related to purchasing. Use 'About Time' software for effective time management and productivity. Conduct regular checks and updates on customer credit records. Utilize knowledge of budget processes to ensure cost-effective purchasing. Handle invoices and ensure they match with the related purchase orders. Maintain a close relationship with vendors, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services. Requirements Proven experience as a Buyer or similar role Proficiency in 3M, Coupa, and CRM software Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions Experience with About Time software Understanding of Budget Processes and Buying Processes Exceptional Customer Service skills Ability to manage and process invoices Strong negotiation and networking skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Strong analytical and decision-making skills Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks High level of organizational skills Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team High degree of professionalism and dedication to meeting deadlines A degree in business administration or a related field would be advantageous.
