Eligibility may vary.Position descriptionAble to perform complete echocardiographic study integrating all imaging modalities necessary to obtain all pertinent patient data. Documents patient data and echo exam information completely and accurately utilizing the Echo Information Management System. Functions independently while using critical thinking and problem solving skills to obtain a comprehensive echocardiogram. Collaborates with Advanced Cardiac Sonographers, Physicians, and other team members to assist in interpretation of echocardiographic findings. Assists in the orientation and training of all levels of trainees and visitors assigned to the Echocardiography Laboratory. Expectations extend to include on-call practices, weekends, evenings and holiday coverage as needed. Demonstrates flexibility in learning all equipment. Must have an understanding of sterile procedures and isolation precaution techniques, and must exercise proper precautions to avoid potential exposure to radiation, infectious hazards, and sharp instruments.QualificationsThe Cardiac Sonographer must meet one of the following qualifications: Associates degree or Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited sonography program or High school diploma with 5 years cardiac ultrasound experienceAdditional qualificationsBachelor's degree preferred.License or certificationRegistered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) in Adult Echo required. Minimum of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
