Environmental Leaders of Color, a Mount Vernon-based non-profit organization, spearheads a program to impart advanced computer science education to high school students from socially and economically vulnerable backgrounds. Our Technology & The Environment Saturday morning program introduces students to Python and Blockchain during the upcoming fall semester. It presents a compelling opportunity for college students with expertise and familiarity with Blockchain.

We are seeking a candidate who can

Commit to instructing high school students who possess sufficient experience and knowledge in Blockchain.

The classes are scheduled from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon on Saturdays at the SUNY Westchester - Mount Vernon Extension.

The selected individual will be responsible for aiding students during coding sessions and facilitating the Blockchain segment of the curriculum.

Moreover, the candidate must demonstrate an ability to engage with high school students and offer personalized assistance to those who may encounter comprehension challenges.

A dedication to fostering social and environmental justice within communities is imperative.

Eligible candidates should be

eighteen years or older,

available to commute to Mount Vernon on Saturday mornings, and

equipped with a formal background and education in computer science.

Salary:

$35/hr for Blockchain teaching and curricula preparation

$25/hr for assisting with coding
