Visit our website at nyc.gov/dcas to learn more about the work we do.The Talent and Organizational Development (TOD) College Aide will work within DEM’s Talent and Organizational Development team, under the guidance of the Senior HR Business Partner, but in extremely close coordination with DEM’s other units. The TOD College Aide will be charged with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:

Process Training Requests: Review training and professional development requests for completeness; assist with obtaining supporting documentation needed for approval.

Support Internship Program: Provide hiring managers with information and resources regarding available intern and fellowship programs; support the application process and facilitate communication between DEM and internship program teams.

Internal Communications: Draft internal team communications including our monthly newsletter the Current as well as other communications regarding upcoming events, training compliance reminders, staffing changes, etc.

Event Planning: Support event planning and creation of presentation decks for internal division-wide meetings.

Recruitment and onboarding: Support recruitment and onboarding of new employees

Office Supply and Resource Managment: Assist DEM employees with obtaining office supplies and tech resources.

Special projects as assigned.

Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school. For Assignment Level II (Information Technology): Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or closely related field, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study. For Assignment Level III (Information Technology Fellow): Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or other area relevant to the information technology project(s) assigned, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study. Appointments to this Assignment Level will be made by the Technology Steering Committee through the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications. SPECIAL NOTE Maximum tenure for all Assignment Levels in the title of College Aide is 6 years. No student shall be employed more than half-time in any week in which classes in which the student is enrolled are in session.
