CCB has operations in 25 countries.Commercial Lending Management (“CLM”) manages the end-to-end commercial lending process for clients of the CCB. Key responsibilities include loan underwriting, credit and financial due diligence, portfolio management, loan structuring and documentation, and credit delivery and servicing. CLM manages approximately $50 billion in credit exposure across 12,000+ credit relationships.We are seeking a dynamic and motivated professional to serve as Risk Governance and Controls Officer. The individual reports to the Global Head of Risk Governance and Controls in CLM. This role will be based in New York City.Key responsibilities include:Assist the Global Head of Risk Governance and Controls in the review and continuous enhancement to the CCB’s credit policies, credit program and related country appendices to ensure these reflect best practices and properly risk manage the loan assets of the global CCB

Assist the Global Head of Risk Governance and Controls in the review and continuous enhancement of the CCB’s underwriting templates and risk acceptance criteria, while ensuring compliance with firm policies and external regulatory requirements

Assist in managing communication / building consensus amongst regional business and CLM leadership as to proposed global changes to policy, the CCB credit program, underwriting templates and / or risk acceptance criteria

Coordinate with the Head of Digital Lending to ensure all policy related changes to CitiRisk Commercial are prioritized and funded as part of the annual investment cycle

Ensure global consistency to all rapid portfolio reviews, stress tests, and other means of portfolio reviews, etc.

Assist in providing global oversight and coordination for all internal and 3rd party CLM reviews, including but not limited to Fundamental Credit Reviews (“FCR”), Compliance, Internal Audit, KPMG, the OCC and any other regulatory bodies

Coordinate with Learning and Development to the global CLM organization related to the CCB credit policies, its credit program, lessons learned or other process or procedures changes stemming from an FCR, IA, Compliance or regulatory review

Identifying significant risks to global CLM’s activities, working with local countries to assess the overall effectiveness of key controls that mitigate significant risks, and working with each country/ region to detect and address specific weaknesses in the design and/or execution of significant controls and/or related business processes (i.e. MCA)

Assist Controls Manager in working with the CLM countries to design, implement and manage the closure of all Corrective Action Plans (“CAPs”) related to CLM activities

Make recommendations to automate/digitize controls, monitoring and testing, where appropriate, using AI, data retrievals and other techniques

Liaise with Independent Risk, Compliance, ORM, and other SMEs on policies, standards and regulatory interpretation and help strike a balance between requirements and client experience and supporting business infrastructure

Identify changes in business strategy, market conditions, industry trends, regulatory environment, regional or country macro-economic factors, etc. which may lead to increased risk, and recommend enhancements to process controls to address them

Knowledge/Experience:At least 10 years of relevant financial services experiences, with a strong preference for commercial credit / underwriting experience

Strong understanding of commercial credit analysis, CCB credit policies and the CCB’s credit program

Advanced understanding of commercial risk management principles

Good understanding of OCC regulatory policies and guidelines and the evolving regulatory guidance in this space

Proven ability to execute multiple projects and work streams to tight deadlines

Demonstrates ability to solve complex problems by being resourceful, consulting with others and considering alternatives

Practical knowledge of the CitiRisk Commercial credit platform

Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook

Strong business interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal); capable of professional discussions with senior level, internal and external stakeholders, for the geographies in which the CCB operates

Qualifications:BA/BS or higher degree in Business (MBA), Finance or any other related subject

Advanced Microsoft skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
