(SW) 4 TWU: $120,179 Responsibilities The selected candidate will perform information technology functions related to data analysis and usage requirements focused on data and integration-intensive initiatives. Computer Specialists (Software), under supervision, with considerable latitude for independent action or the exercise of independent judgment, are responsible for the analysis, design, development, implementation, enhancement, maintenance and security of database management systems, operating systems, data communications systems, applications, mobile applications, websites, and/or related software functions; may supervise a unit engaged in work related to these areas or may independently perform related work of a highly complex, technical nature. The Data Analyst's role is to design data modeling/analysis services used to mine enterprise systems and applications for knowledge and information that enhance business processes. This individual is also responsible for assisting in building, deploying, and maintaining data support tools, metadata inventories, and definitions for database file/table creation. Primary responsibilities include:- Requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation of business requirements for data use, analysis, and quality.
- Develop data models and protocols, develop, deploy, and manage required data queries in response to business user needs.
- Review existing analytic processes to identify best practices and opportunities for improvement.
- Perform statistical analysis required to support a wide variety of business initiatives
- Provide and apply quality assurance best practices for data analysis services
- Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to data models.
- Monitor data management system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements.
- Guide solution design to meet data, integration and Business Intelligence requirements
- Coordinate with data owners to ensure data accessibility and quality.
- Contribute to management of central data stores and metadata.
- Provide valuable input into business intelligence roadmaps and development plans.
- Deep knowledge of data analysis and usage requirements.
- Strong understanding of data models, structures, theories, principles, and practices.
- Direct experience with data management techniques.
- Hands on knowledge of statistical methods and techniques (predictive modeling, segmentation, regression, etc.)
- Experience in building Reports in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Paginated Reports and automated data refresh of dashboards, writing complex DAX expressions.
- Strong familiarity with data preparation, processing, classification, and forecasting.
- Expert in data mining and information analysis to generate insights.
- Competent in information taxonomy creation, information visualization, information modeling, and data warehousing techniques.
- Proficient in SQL for use in data analysis.
- Experience working with major database technologies including SQL Server, Oracle as well as NoSQL and file-based data storage.
- Experience in Microsoft Azure data platform technologies including databases, ADLS, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory.
- Experience with Data bricks, Apache Spark and Python is a plus.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Understanding of business context and objectives.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts in plain language.
- Influencing skills and demonstrated ability to engage both developers and business partners to achieve target outcomes.
- Hands-on database tuning and troubleshooting experience.
- Experience working on a project using Agile delivery, and DevOps. Experience with Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, GitLab.
