Description We are in search of a Controller to join our team in Queens, New York. In this role, you will oversee all accounting and finance processes within our law firm. Your primary responsibilities will include managing the firm's financial activities and handling the private books of the partners.Responsibilities: Oversee and manage all financial activities within the firm Handle the private books of the partners Prepare and present financial statements Manage escrow accounting processes Oversee accounts payable and receivable Conduct monthly and annual financial closings Communicate effectively with stakeholders and manage their expectations Utilize QuickBooks for various financial processes Conduct auditing processes when necessary Oversee and manage budget processes Requirements Must hold a minimum of 10 years of experience in a Controller role or similar capacity Demonstrable expertise in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management Proven experience in auditing practices and principles Solid understanding of budget processes and financial statement preparation Proficient in using Juris and QuickBooks software for financial management Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate financial information effectively Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage a team A degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is required Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) would be advantageous Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity Ability to strategize and solve problems Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
