Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Controller at our Islandia , New York location. As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in managing our financial operations within the construction industry. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around overseeing our financial reports, managing staff, and working with SAGE 100.Responsibilities: Oversee the creation and maintenance of Work in Progress (WIP) reports and ensure they are completed accurately and timely. Manage and provide guidance to our accounting staff, fostering a supportive and efficient work environment. Monitor and manage change orders, ensuring they are properly accounted for and reflected in our financial records. Oversee cost accounting processes and ensure they align with industry standards and company policies. Coordinate and implement the revenue recognition process, ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Utilize SAGE 100 for various accounting operations, ensuring accurate and efficient data entry and management. Manage the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring all transactions are processed accurately and timely. Oversee auditing processes, ensuring they are carried out in accordance with established procedures and standards. Manage and maintain our CRM system, ensuring data accuracy and efficiency of use. Oversee the budget processes, ensuring they align with company objectives and financial goals.Requirements Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller role or a similar position. Proficient in using Accounting Software Systems for financial management and reporting. Demonstrated experience with ADP - Financial Services for payroll and HR services. Familiarity with CRM systems for managing the company's relationships and interactions with customers. Extensive knowledge of Accounting Functions, including but not limited to, financial reporting, tax planning, and cash flow management. Capable of managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) to ensure accurate and timely payment processing. Proven experience in Auditing, capable of identifying discrepancies or inefficiencies and implementing corrective measures. Strong understanding of Budget Processes, able to plan, create, and manage budgets effectively.
