Title : CPE Validation Engineer Location : Bethpage NY Contract Experience Level Required : 8+ Test and validate Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) and back-end systems for CPE. Provide technical support for all escalated DOCSIS CPE issues. Perform validation using the Wireless Clients and WiFi network. Perform software and network engineering developing solutions and testing. Serve as subject matter expert on DOCSIS cable modem testing and provisioning, IP Routing and Automation. Manage certification, configuration, and integration engineering of all DOCSIS CPE. Create and maintain related documentation including test plans. Participate in daily scrum and weekly bug review meetings 8+ years of work experience in relevant field. Strong Knowledge of wireless network (Wi-Fi) concepts and standards IEEE 802.11 (WLAN) Strong Knowledge of IP networking principles and relevant protocols IEEE 802.3 (Ethernet) Knowledge of HFC / DOCSIS, VoIP networks and Tools required . CWMP - TR069, TR181 o Cable Modems o CMTS's o ACS (Auto Configuration Server) o SNMP Knowledge of FTTx technologies (G-PON, etc.) Knowledge of LINUX, Windows and SUN Solaris operating systems. Experience in Python scripting Must be proficient in the use of Office tools such as Word, Excel, Project, and Visio. Experience in Test Planning , Test case review , Test case development ,Test Strategy . Proficient in troubleshooting and reproducing of issues in Lab environment Must have an education in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent, preferably with a degree. Understanding of Agile methodologies with exposure to HP ALM, JIRA and Confluence Roles and responsibility:
- Test and validate Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) and back-end systems for CPE
- Provide technical support for all escalated DOCSIS CPE issues. Perform validation using the Wireless Clients and Wi-Fi network
- Act as first-level escalation point for beta customer issues
- Perform software and network engineering developing solutions and testing
- Responsible for Beta, Customer field triage and troubleshooting
- This includes design and testing of the growing number of different Internet access devices such as modems, OLT's, eMTA's, routers, gateways, set-top boxes for the end-users
- Create and maintain related documentation including test plans
- Participate in daily scrum and weekly bug review meetings
- Manage certification, configuration, and integration engineering of all DOCSIS CPE
- Identify hardware and software testing requirements.
- Participate in weekly bug classification and prioritization.
- Establish test network environments as documented in test plans
