Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

6 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.

Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience with Relational Databases, NoSQL Databases, and/or Big Data technologies.

Experience in advanced areas of networking, including Linux, software-defined networking, network virtualization, open protocols, application acceleration and load balancing, DNS, virtual private networks, and their application to PaaS and IaaS technologies.

Experience architecting and developing software or infrastructure for scalable and secure distributed systems.

Experience with containers and associated technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, Istio, Serverless, and Microservices.

Experience in understanding a complex customer’s existing software workloads.

Ability to define a technical migration roadmap to the cloud reflecting specific customer needs.

As a Customer Engineer, you will work with technical Sales teams to differentiate Google Cloud to our customers. You will help prospective and existing customers and partners understand the power of Google Cloud, develop creative cloud solutions and architectures to solve their business challenges, engage in proofs of concepts, and troubleshoot any technical questions and roadblocks. You will use your expertise and presentation skills to engage with customers to understand their business and technical requirements, and persuasively present practical and useful solutions on Google Cloud.Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, key customer technical objections, and develop a strategy to resolve technical blockers.

Manage the technical relationship with Google customers, including managing product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and the coordination of additional technical resources.

Guide customers through assessments of existing legacy application environments and provide recommendations on a roadmap for application modernization.

Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to complete solutions on Google Cloud.

Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as needed.
