Role: DIRECTOR OF CYBER SECURITYContract: Permanent Full Time Role Location: Remote - EST.What You Will Do:Work closely with security leadership, helping with security operations, incident response, application security and infrastructure.Enforce a strong security culture set forth by the CISO, ensuring uniformity across security teams, business units and employees. Foster strong relationships with internal business units and external entities to maintain a strong network.Develops IT security programs and recommends necessary changes to the information security team to ensure the companys systems are fully compliant with all applicable regulatory requirements and privacy laws.Utilizes open communication and managerial courage to ensure the organization's standards, expectations, and goals are respected and upheld.Leads security-related projects from inception to successful completion and can effectively coach technology staff on appropriate security protocols and needs as they implement new technology into the organization.Drive vendor and technology solution selection, as well as third-party consulting services as needed.Influence the planning and execution of incident response and postmortem exercises, with a focus on creating measurable benchmarks to show progress (or deficiencies requiring additional attention)Remain current with new security threats and assess systems to ensure they can defend the business.Enrich DevOps architecture with security standards and best practicesDevelops Security target state architecture and a key stakeholder in Enterprise target state architecture and transformationOpenly support the CISO, management team and executive leadership, even during tumultuous times. What You Will Need:At least 8 to 10+ years experience in cybersecurity, including compliance and risk management, with a background in system and network security engineeringA proven deep background (preferred 5+ years in addition to cybersecurity) in technology design, implementation and deliveryDemonstrates solid organizational skills and the ability to multi-task, prioritize workload and delegate responsibilities.Experience in cloud computing technologies, including software-, infrastructure and platform-as-a-service, as well as public, private and hybrid environmentsKnowledge of traditional security controls and technologies, such as Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), public key infrastructure (PKI), identity and access management (IDAM) systems, antivirus and firewalls, in addition to newer offerings such as endpoint detection and response (EDR), threat intelligence platforms, security automation and orchestration, deception technologies and application controlsUnderstanding containers (e.g., Docker) and container orchestration (e.g., Docker Swarm, Kubernetes)Understanding of CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible and JenkinsProficient in securing Windows and nix operating systems, endpoint applications, networking protocols and devicesPreferably some experience with operations and security across Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform)
