Position: Data EngineerLocation: New York City (4 days in the office required)Salary: $180,000 - $230,000 + Bonus (10 - 20 %)My client is recruiting a Data Engineer to contribute to their growing alternative data insights effort within their Investment Team. They have over 260 employees, with offices in New York, London, Singapore and Tokyo.You will be collaborating with Data Analysts to design and build innovative and scalable data solutions that allow the Data Team to uncover differentiated investment insights from large, complex structured and unstructured alternative datasets. You will be responsible for data sourcing, data transformation and enrichment, cloud infrastructure development and predictive analytics.You’ll need:- Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or other relevant quantitative field with a 3.5+ GPA from a top university
- Experience working with Alternative Data (MUST)
- Experience working with Big Data sets (MUST)
- 2+ years cloud experience (building, maintaining, and monitoring data pipelines? - AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
Strong programming skills with:- 3+ years’ experience with Python and SQL
- 2+ years' experience with Container technology (Docker)
- 3+ years' experience with CI/CD development environment
