Organization & Department OverviewThe Chief Data Office (CDO) is critical to managing Major Global Bank's businesses and to meet numerous regulatory and management reporting requirements. The CDO partners with Enterprise Chief Data Office (ECDO), Client businesses, operations & technology, as well as Global Functions including Finance, Risk, and Compliance in an enterprise-wide data quality management discipline continuously striving to improve, monitor, measure, and control data quality.This team's remit also includes delivering project management, business analysis, and strategic planning services leading to improved controls and efficiencies in infrastructure and operational processes.The CDO is responsible for planning, implementation, communications, training, compliance monitoring, and establishment of Major Global Bankgroup's Controlled Data Management Environment supporting our Enterprise Information Assets.This is a senior role within the CDO Data Lineage team and will require coordination globally for Data Lineage Tools and Technology strategy implementation.This position will interface with Global Functions (ECDO, Finance, Risk, and Compliance), Global Functions Technology, Business, and ICG Operations & Technology leadership.Role Summary:The Data Lineage Tools and Technology Lead SVP is accountable for leading data lineage toolset across complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas. Requires a comprehensive understanding of implementing a Data Lineage Technology strategy across multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function. Applies in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions. Excellent commercial awareness is a necessity. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level.This is a senior role within the CDO organization reporting to the Head of Data Lineage and will be responsible for the Data Lineage toolset at the level and will support the CDO in cross functional data lineage efforts across globally. This position partner closely with technology, Enterprise CDO, Risk, Finance, Compliance and their DGOs and Data Stewards to ensure successfully delivery of Major Global Bank's Data Transformation journey.Responsibilities:• Requires ownership of CDO data lineage toolset roadmap for one or many lines of business, where expertise is required to interpret against policies, guidelines, or processes• Partnering with the different teams, plan, direct, and coordinate Data Lineage toolset strategies and activities across including business process reengineering that will enable the achievement of strategies and initiatives that increase revenues, reduce costs and/or improve the customer and business partner experience• Contribute to developed of Data Lineage toolset in driving approach and results, and ensuring optimal solution delivery through clearly defined requirements and implementation plans• Partner closely with Enterprise Chief Data Office (ECDO) Business Line Data Governance Offices, Data Stewards and Technology and serve as the Data Lineage tools expert in standards and best practices• Work with Enterprise CDO team on delivering target state capabilities mainly related to the Data Lineage toolset• Establish toolset to drive governance and monitoring of lineage deliverables across all ICG business lines• Influences and negotiates with senior leaders (across functions); may communicate with external parties.• Provide guidance and training to business lines on data lineage tools and provide escalation through Steering Committee's and cross functional management• Serve as "voice of the customer” to help drive data lineage tooling capabilities with ECDO and Technology for enterprise data management toolset• Represents Client in cross functional data lineage tooling forums, and report updates and escalations to Senior Management through various governance processes and forums.• Develop strong partnerships and collaborate with functional partners and stakeholders from ICG, GCB, DGO, ECDO, Finance, Operations, and Technology to define, agree, drive, and implement detailed business requirements to meet Data Lineage commitments.• Provide product expertise to identify tactical and strategic solutions, and iterative process improvements for Data Lineage tooling programs
Qualifications:Mandatory Skills:• 12+ years' experience with defining and implementing data lineage programs in a large global bank or Big Four consulting firm.• Must have experience with Data Lineage and/or Data Lineage Governance and driving initiative across Capital Markets, Commercial Banking, Security & Issuer Services, Research, Reference and Master Data.• Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to lead teams through direct and matrix reporting lines.• Strong executive presence; confident in presenting a balanced view to key stakeholders, senior management, and IT partners• Experience in implementing Data Lineage gathering and visualization tools including but not limited to: Solidatus, Neo4j, Ab Initio, manta etc.• Technical expertise in SQL, VBA, Query Automation, Python and JSONPreferred Skills:• Experience in data stewardship and technical expertise in Major Global Bank technology or business• Strong system architecture background across an investment bank and have worked in a capacity to train, influence and rollout Data Lineage standards and tools• Previous experience in building out Data Governance toolset and how tools interact across Data Lineage, Data Quality, CDE Management and DQ Controls/ScorecardsEducation:• Bachelors/University degree, Master's degree preferred• Data Quality/Data Management Certification preferred.
