A NYS agency located in New York, NY is looking for a Desktop/LAN/Network Administrator for a 12 month contract.

Please note that this position may initially allow for work to be performed remotely. However, consultant will be required to work on-site/in-office once COVID restrictions are lifted.

To be considered for this position, the client has advised that upon placement, consultants will be required to must wear a mask under certain circumstances, show proof of full vaccination or submit on a weekly basis proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR diagnostic test.

Requirements and skills

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in IT related field
  • Minimum 7-9 years of IT experience within an IT Department.
  • Minimum 7-9 Years of hands on technical experience administering Microsoft Windows 10, Server 2016-2019 and Active Directory in an Enterprise IT organization.
  • Expert installing, configuring, imaging, deploying and maintaining Windows 10.
  • Hands-on technical experience with Microsoft services such as SCCM, MDT, WSUS, WVD & GPO's
  • Extensive experience troubleshooting communication issues involving Networking and Security technology such as Wireless Devices/VPN/Firewalls/Proxies/DNS/AV & Encryption.
  • System administration experience with Enterprise Software Applications
  • Excellent verbal & communication skills
  • Must have exceptional documentation and writing skills.
  • Advanced experience using Microsoft Office 365 Suite including Teams and Visio.
  • Strong Cyber security awareness and attention to permissions, risks and mitigation processes
  • A solid foundation in Information Technology, including the principles, practices and functions of an Enterprise IT Department.
  • Ability to make decisions and provide solutions by inquiring, listening and evaluating requirements.
  • Must easily adjust to changing priorities, circumstances and direction.
  • Experience with Police, Physical Security or Public Safety is a major plus.
  • 6+ years' experience: Information Security, Networking, Win Server 2016/2019/2012/2008/2003, Windows 10 and Microsoft Active Directory

Responsibilities

  • The agency IT Cyber Security department is seeking a Desktop/LAN/Network Administrator with expert hands on Microsoft technical experience to assist the department with some very interesting and challenging Public Safety & Security projects.
  • The candidate must currently live in the New York Metropolitan Area, pass an extensive agency Police Department background investigation and have a clean driver's license.
  • Onsite work and travel throughout the agency region are required. This position will provide significant IT field support to numerous locations throughout the MTA region.
  • The interview will involve technical questions which the candidate must successfully complete.
