The Direct Private Investments (“DPI”) team is looking for a professional to support the day to day efforts of the business in the Latin America region. The role is both a client-facing and internal business development role. This individual will help support DPI’s efforts to originate, evaluate, approve, and distribute private direct and co-investment opportunities for Family Offices and other sophisticated and suitable CPB clients around the globe. The role focuses on the marketing and distribution of DPI products in LatAm, with key partners across Citi. The candidate must have strong communication and diplomacy skills to coordinate, guide, and converse with individuals of all levels internally and externally.Role ResponsibilitiesSupport the growth of CPB’s Direct Private Investments business, including:
Day to day responsibility for coordinating DPI business and product related projects in LatAm
Act as the internal wholesaler – evaluate and market DPI offerings to private bankers, investment counselors (ICs) and select clients across Latin America
Attend client and prospect meetings to discuss and promote the overall DPI platform and individual DPI offerings
Own and support client requests including specific client requests and reverse inquiries
Help review and manage DPI opportunities via our partnerships within Citi’s internal networks, namely Banking, Capital Markets & Advisory (“BCMA”), Citi Investment Management Alternatives (“CIM Alts”), and Citi Private Capital Group (“PCG”), as well as external sources such as third party financial sponsors, investment managers, CPB clients and others
Help manage the appropriate distribution processes for every private transaction sourced, as determined by the product and distribution type
Coordinate prospective client outreach and track client engagement as related to all DPI transactions, including onboarding, documentation, and communication with BDG, PCG, Solutions, BCMA and the Issuer
Assist private bankers / investment counselors and clients in closing, funding, and post close processes on DPI offerings
Analyze internal data to identify business opportunities and drive business growth
Develop and implement marketing plan to further increase DPI penetration throughout the LatAm region
Support the DPI pipeline process for the broader region
Work closely with Control Partners across Citi to ensure the opportunities meet all regional regulatory, legal and compliance standards as well as ensure that the framework and operation of the DPI efforts are done in strict adherence to Citi’s standards more broadly
Role Requirements:3-5 years of experience in private equity sales, investor relations or similar client facing roles
Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines successfully, including the maturity to perform well under pressure and successfully manage several projects at a time
Strong communication (written + verbal) and interpersonal skills
Strong presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills, including Excel and PowerPoint skills with familiarity of working with large amounts of data
Displays initiative, flexibility, and independence
Judgment and discretion in working with highly confidential information
Bachelor’s/University degree require
Fluency in Spanish, given client coverage
