DXG Legal & Regulatory Solutions (LRS) US Director Technology

We are seeking a a highly skilled, experienced and results driven Director of Technology to join the DXG Legal & Regulatory Solutions management team and drive the technology vision and strategy for our LR US business portfolio. This position is responsible for bringing strategic Technology leadership to the LR US organization by creating, implementing and leading the ideation and development of innovative and differentiating technical and engineering solutions that support the LR US business strategy.

As a member of the DXG Legal & Regulatory Solutions Leadership Team, this role will play a key role in establishing the technology vision and lead the technological innovation and development for our Legal & Regulatory US business. You will create, recommend and implement the technical strategy roadmap that will align with Legal & Regulatory strategic business goals and objectives in support of accelerating our transformation to expert solutions.

The ideal candidate will understand the day-to-day operational demands of our LR US business and is able to make executive technology decisions on behalf of the DXG LRS organization including managing a technology budget and making the necessary investments to align the LR US organization with its vision for its technological needs. The role will be a senior leadership role and is expected to be a strategic business partner and contributor, understanding key business drivers and building effective relationships throughout the organization.

This role is responsible for creating, implementing, and overseeing the LR US technology strategy, bringing together the DXG assets, services, product platforms and business systems to deliver world-class expert solutions that help legal and compliance professionals work more effectively and efficiently and achieve better insights and outcomes for their businesses and their clients.

Key areas of responsibility include:
  • Creating, implementing and leading our technology strategy for our LR US business supporting our business portfolio spanning information products, expert solutions, software solutions, support services and finance.
  • Governing and leading decisions and processes regarding technology development, information security, architecture, platforms, testing and operational resiliency.
  • Building and deploying technology resources and systems that meet immediate and forecasted customer and business needs.
  • Developing, administering, monitoring, and coordinating the technology budget as decisions related to technology needs influence spending patterns for products and programs across the LR US organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Inspire, develop, and engage a world-class team of software engineers, product managers, UX designers, and data analysts
  • Build industry-leading customer experiences that create value for our customers
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a short and long term strategic technology, product, and data roadmap in support of business goals and objectives
  • Lead strategic planning efforts for the technology discipline, ensuring that technology programs and initiatives align to LR business objectives and strategies
  • Oversee information security plan that protects the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the company's data and servers
  • Partner with business leaders to communicate at all levels of the organization, regarding the build and execution of the DXG technology strategy in line with business strategic priorities.
  • Establish technology policies and standard operating procedures, adjusting as needed based on business needs and the landscape
  • Ensure all technology assets are protected, secured and have a proper disaster recovery/business continuity plan
  • Develop, track, and manage (annual) technology budgets, including capital and operational expenses
  • Build a financially-leveraged technology team by creatively balancing outsourced resources with home-grown teams
  • Maintain industry-leading uptime on critical technology infrastructure through great architectural decisions, successful monitoring and testing processes, and system redundancy
  • Ensure data privacy and system security compliance for all operations across all geographies
  • Develop a differentiated approach to data ingestion and analysis that gives a competitive advantage and speed, including the application of sophisticated data science techniques.
  • Utilize creative, thoughtful, and boundary-pushing system development strategies that unlock opportunity (including build vs. buy decisions and system architecture)
  • Ability to work with onshore and offshore partners, contractors, consultants, and outsourced vendor work
OTHER DUTIES

Working in a global organization, frequent availability outside "normal" working hours is required to collaborate with global technology, business, and customer teams.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education: • Bachelors or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent field

Experience:
  • 10+ years of software development and architecture experience
  • 5+ years of experience advising at executive level
  • Experience with complex distributed systems and modern web technologies
  • Experience with highly distributed global development teams
  • Cross functional experience, within a distributed, global and matrixed organization delivering results
  • Strong financial management skills
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to relay and simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences
  • Deep knowledge and experience of delivering enterprise level innovation using Lean Agile and SAFe
  • Deep understanding of interconnected systems and the cost, performance, and strategic implications of making particular architecture choices
  • Experience building and leading world-class software development teams and processes across geographies
  • Ideally Product management experience
  • Deep and applied understanding of data storage, architecture, and analysis, including advanced data science techniques
  • Take the "voice" of the customer as input into direction setting and decision making
  • Possesses a solid blend of great technical skills and strong people skills
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to foster an open dialogue among all stakeholders that encourages respectful, honest, and challenging debate about how the world works
