Our 114,000 colleagues serve people in more than 160 countries.The OpportunityThe Distribution Channel Manager will be the primary liaison between Abbott Rapid Diagnostics and the distribution partner(s) with primary responsibilities of: negotiating distribution agreements and growth incentives; develop programs that grow revenue and market share; build strong relationships at all levels within the distribution channel; work closely with Marketing, Finance, Legal, Office of Ethics and Compliance and Operations to drive focus on Abbott products; develop Abbott product and brand loyalty within the distribution channel. Ideally based in the Eastern US near a major airport.What You'll Work On
Ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the distribution channel and to grow Abbott revenue and market share:
Establish rapport and relationships within the distribution channel with VP of Sales, VP of Marketing, Regional Managers, Marketing, Purchasing, Inventory Control, Inside Sales, Training, National Accounts / IDN Teams etc and align with Abbott counterparts
Ability to schedule and perform routine executive-level business reviews that may include the C-suite from Abbott and the distribution partner C-suite
Monitor sales purchase information and sales tracings to spot trends in the business to include product growth, lost business, or gray market activity
Support the weekly update to monthly and quarterly Distributor sales funnel and work with Distribution counterparts to ensure Distributor meets their contractual inventory levels and is able to respond to seasonable demand changes
Ability to maintain Abbott private label contracts in a competitive and ever-changing landscape
Ability to get unfair mindshare and focus within a distribution channel that has hundreds of partners
Ability to articulate the value of selling through distribution to Abbott sales reps and managers and develop best practices on how to develop high functioning relationships with their distribution partners
Ability to collaborate within Abbott Sales, Marketing, Legal, Operations, Office of Ethics and Compliance and Finance to design initiatives and programs that drive results for Abbott and distribution channel:
Review contractual agreements and negotiate extensions or modifications that best serve Abbott’s short-term and long-term interests
Negotiate programs with distribution that drive focus on Abbott products that may include growth incentives, educational webinars, quarterly promotions, or distributor marketing programs that differentiate Abbott products
Ability to drive field collaboration and focus with Abbott field sales and management and distribution partner sales and management team:
Must communicate clearly to Abbott field sales any promotions or key focus areas
Ability to stay organized, drive collaboration, and trouble-shoot complex scenarios that involve multiple stakeholders
Strategize with Sales, Marketing, National Accounts and government to help win larger deals that involve distribution and include their key stakeholders
Required Qualifications-BA/BS degree in sales, marketing, business management or related major.-Experience in medical product sales, diagnostics sales experience, working with lab focused distributors/sales teams or closely related experience.Preferred Qualifications:-Seven+ years of experience in sales with two or more years in national accounts and or working with distribution partners.-Strong knowledge of sales methods and techniques in the diagnostics market and demonstrated strategic selling ability in large, complex accounts.-Proficient in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables), Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Team.Apply Now (https://www.jobs.abbott/us/en)
