- The Lead Document Controller will be the primary document control representative assigned to a portfolio of LNG project(s) executed by the client’s Complex Construction Gas.
- The successful candidate will provide support to the project execution team with strict adherence to the approved processes and procedures implemented by the business for document control functionality.
- May be assigned to multiple projects depending on the scope of the project.
- The Document Control representative will be responsible for leading the document controls processes with the internal project management team on a large project that will be bid out for EPC in Suffolk County, New York.
- The Lead Document Controller will develop and oversee the document management system of a complex gas EPC project.
- Utilizing Primavera Unifier, the Lead Project Planner will leverage electronic document management systems and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure documents are being submitted, reviewed, returned, and stored throughout the project lifecycle.
- This onsite position will require daily presence at the engineering office initially and then at the construction site.
- The project is expected to continue until 2027.
- Develop and implement a document management system for utilization by the company and contractors.
- Develop and implement document control and numbering procedures for the project.
- Capture project document deliverables according to approved processes and consumption procedures by the project execution team.
- Distribute information by approved processes and procedures.
- Report the status of documentation in relation to the project schedule and milestone priorities to Project Management and relevant project personnel.
- Perform regular quality audits of project document control functions to ensure consistent and effective service to the project.
- Provide accurate and timely status reporting metrics of all pertinent document control functions to Project Management on a regular and continuous basis.
- Coordinate with contractor representatives to ensure proper and effective application of document control processes and procedures.
- Attend all pertinent project meetings and functions related to document management.
- Some college experience is preferred.
- 7 + years of experience in document control/information management.
- Experience with EDMS and Collaboration software applications such as SharePoint, Unifier, etc. required.
- Technical document control experience in the oil and gas, utility, or manufacturing industry.
- Proficient with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
- Proficient in Electronic Data Management System (EDMS) administration such as SharePoint, Unifier, OpenText, etc.
- Experience and understanding of Supplier and Engineering documentation.
- Able to assess, develop, and implement best practices for document management functionality
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Service-driven and customer-focused.
- Knowledge of engineering technical terminology in the oil and gas industry.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and coordination skills. Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities.
- Experience in the execution of document control functions on EPC projects.
