Report to management, operations, administrative and corporate teams on the performance of the Environmental, Health, & Safety programs and Initiatives as a means to initiate improvements
Provide timely reports to Governmental agencies consistent with reporting requirements of the regulations
Development and maintenance of a Hornell Site Environmental management system compliant with the ISO 14001 Environmental Standards
Serve as Chairman for the Quarterly ISO 14001 site status management reviews
Development and maintenance of a Hornell Site H&S management system incorporating policies and procedures and a process for monitoring performance versus plan and a corrective action system for identified variations from the plan
Develop annual EHS budgets and census requirements and manage department to budget
Oversee site security including a team of security officers
Support injury and illness recordkeeping and case management process; maintain relevant logs and documentation
Develop internal audit plans, review performance, and report feedback and gaps to management to drive continual EHS improvement
Prepare required air, water, and land disposal applications for operational permits from the federal, state, and local authorities. Ensure appropriate air, water, and land disposal permits are complied with and current.
Manage plant hazardous waste compliance and wastewater treatment programs
Develop and manage ergonomic initiatives to ensure ongoing ergonomic assessments, evaluations, and continuous improvement processes
Analyze and evaluate EHS performance across the site and develop strategic improvement plans and goals to integrate improvements into business operations
Skills, Experience, Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field of study ( EH&S, Engineering, etc )
EHS experience in manufacturing / industrial environment
Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental protection legislation and regulations and standards like 29 CFR 1910, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001
Extensive knowledge of environmental health and safety regulations and policies
Experience managing change in multiple facility environment and managing direct reports
