Electrical Controls Engineer Job in Olean, NY

Direct Hire

Onsite position in Olean, NY

Candidate will be required to work with customers to design electrical control systems for automated equipment. We are looking for an applicant with a solid work ethic, ability to work with others and a positive understanding attitude to develop unique machinery for our customers.

There will be occasional travel to support current customer automation systems or to install new systems. Additional tasks may include low level IT support for computers within the facility.

Requirements of the Electrical Controls Engineer Job in Olean, NY
  • Proficient in understanding and drawing 2-D electrical schematics using AutoCad or Draftsight
  • Experience with Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Excel, Word and Access
  • PLC Programming experience (we typically use Allen Bradley devices)
  • Experience using I/O devices such as sensors, transmitters, etc
  • HMI Programming experience (Allen Bradley, Maple Systems, Red Lion)
  • PC experience to include networking with control systems and other PC's in LAN configuration
  • Can work independently and develop solutions to automation challenges
  • Experience with electromechanical devices such as servos, pneumatic systems and sensors
  • Working knowledge of safety protocols such as Lockout/Tagout
  • Ability to create user manuals for automation equipment
  • Good communication skills interfacing with assembly technicians
  • Strong mechanical aptitude a plus
  • Experience working with PC's a plus- installing software, troubleshoot communication issues, setting up printers, Domain support, replacing obsolete PC systems
  • Robotic programming a plus
  • Working with vision cameras and software a plus
