Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.

4 years of experience in the renewable energy industry (e.g., project development, financial underwriting, and structuring roles).

Experience in leading an investment team for a transaction, including negotiation, project management, internal approval.

Experience in financial modeling of renewable energy projects and evaluating investments.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Experience creating innovative and replicable solutions, and scaling programs.

Experience working in a cross-functional role with finance, commercial, and technical teams.

Understanding of Google Workspace tools.

Ability to solve complex issues and think creatively to structure creative business agreements.

Ability to travel up to 30% of the time as needed.

As an Energy Structuring Negotiator on the Global Data Centers team, you will lead efforts in creating, deploying, and scaling global energy initiatives. You will have the opportunity to source and lead new methods and structures to achieve carbon reduction goals across our global energy supply portfolio, interfacing with various external stakeholders. You will act as our techno-commercial lead when interfacing with external parties and work cross-functionally and internally to coordinate our commercial and operations teams to execute on projects.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $136,000-$203,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Identify new investment and commercial structures for meeting Google’s Carbon Free Energy (CFE) goals across different regions and technologies, including markets where direct procurement of carbon free energy by end users is not currently possible.

Evaluate opportunities (e.g., financial analysis, feasibility, impact on Google’s climate goals) and lead selection and prioritization process.

Support project negotiation from ideation to execution of agreements and investments.

Create approval decks and manage project pipeline analytics from origination to investment.

Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with external partners and internal partner teams.
