Position Summary:As a key member of the Information Technology team, this position combines technical skills and knowledge to support the Firm’s Enterprise Application systems. The Enterprise Applications Engineer is responsible for the design, installation, daily monitoring, management, troubleshooting, and issue resolution of the Firm’s clientserver and database applications.Applications include but not limited to Firm’s New Business Intake and Conflicts systems, Marketing systems, third-party vendor web applications, and other Legal applications. The Enterprise Applications Engineer will work with other Information Systems team members to troubleshoot professional-quality, enterprise software to meet the Firm’s business needs, while accomplishing these and other critical functions.Reporting Structure: The Applications Engineer will report directly to the Manager of Enterprise Applications.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, install and implement application upgrades and patches of Firmwide and departmental applications such as: Marketing systems (Microsoft Dynamics, Gwabbit), Records, Conflicts (IntApp), HR systems (viDesktop), Legal, and other firm enterprise systems.
  • Act as technical lead on the implementation of new systems and upgrades, including testing and knowledge transfer amongst other members of the Enterprise Applications Team.
  • Propose changes and improvements to ensure optimal performance and reliability of applications.
  • Administer, monitor, maintain and troubleshoot applications to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Implement, update and maintain data integration within Firm systems, including data transfer via firm middleware (IntApp, Boomi, SQL, MS Power Automate), vendor software APIs, and other systems and integration as required.
  • Create notifications and monitoring jobs to proactively address specific system issues and improve systems uptime.
  • Create scripts for automating administrative tasks as required.
  • Create and execute SQL queries to troubleshoot and modify enterprise applications databases.
  • Create and maintain application run-books, architecture, and workflow diagrams outlining application configuration, services, processes, and security and compliance configurations.
  • Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for the administration and usage of enterprise applications.
  • Conduct market research for products, services, and standards to remain abreast of best practices and methodologies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
  • Liaison with application owners and business units to achieve desired levels of productivity.
  • Work closely with vendors to resolve issues.
  • Work closely with SQL DBA, Data Service, Security, and Infrastructure teams to ensure application performance and availability.
  • Work closely with Training and Support Services teams to educate, transfer knowledge and provide troubleshooting and problem diagnosis.
Position Specific Skills and Requirements:
  • Knowledge of MS SQL Servers (2014-2019), SQL Server Management Studio and Query Analyzer, writing and analyzing complex SQL code.
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of Web Service API’s for integration purposes.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with IIS, Windows servers, SSIS.
  • Good overall knowledge of Windows Server OS, IIS and Enterprise Applications architecture components.
  • Powershell and other scripting languages experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with IntApp Integration Builder / Boomi and/or Biztalk, Azure Power Automate and Azure SQL
  • Prior Experience working with Legal Enterprise Applications is a plus Education and General
Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree in Information Systems or related field.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and independently in atmosphere of multiple projects, shifting priorities, and deadline pressure.
  • Good oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Ability to interact and collaborate effectively with team members, technical staff, vendors and internal customers leading technical teams to the successful completion of software upgrade projects.
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into detailed technical specifications.
Attendance Requirements: • On site or remote as per Firm policies during normal working hours and available as necessary before or after normal working hours to work at the Firm, over the telephone, or at off-site meetings, in order to meet the demands of the job and the needs of the Firm.
  • Expected to carry a wireless email device and respond when necessary.
