Overview:This position is responsible for supporting the delivery of second line Enterprise Risk Management services in line with area policies, industry standards, and management expectations. Under the direction and guidance from management, the position requires the execution of one or more activities in a manner that adheres to the expectations of the enterprise risk framework, as it evolves, and the expectations of key stakeholders, up to and including the Board. The position has a basic level of understanding of the business or functions it supports, and continues to work towards gaining further knowledge/expertise.Primary Responsibilities:

Consistently follow directions from management and senior members of the team in executing job responsibilities.

Ensure adherence to enterprise risk related policies and procedures. Understand and utilize the Risk Management Framework, and assist in developing and implementing various elements of said framework with focus on less complex areas.

Develop and produce spreadsheets related to assigned risk discipline based on required frequency (e.g. ad hoc, daily, weekly, monthly or quarterly).

Develop the backend data framework (views, stored procedures, tables, etc) to support automated power bi/tableau reports.

Assist in the collection of data necessary for presentations for management.

Perform routine analysis and judgment based work over a single or a few closely related disciplines to support business decisions.

With oversight, serve as a liaison to assigned business units (BUs) or risk pillars. Collaborate in a coordinated manner when addressing risk of the business line. Escalate significant and/or unresolved risk-related matters to Department management. May interact with lines of business, management and support organizations such as Internal Audit.

Support others in continuous improvement of existing processes to achieve short and long term business objectives.

Adhere to departmental procedures. Aid in documentation to demonstrate processes.

Meet Training requirements assigned by the Bank, Division and Department.

Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.

Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

Complete other related duties as assigned

Scope of Responsibilities:The incumbent will be responsible for Enterprise Risk Management activities as assigned, such as those specified below:

Support the CRO and the Bank through the management of governance and enterprise risk processes.

Support activities for laws and rules that apply across the enterprise.

Stay abreast of evolving themes in risk, understanding various internal and external factors that may impact the Bank.

Analyze information to identify risks and trending.

Support technology, such as the eGRC system, administrative and reporting processes.

Independently evaluate the area's management of key processes for the effective and efficient mitigation of risk.

Provides data, analytics and reporting that support the identification, assessment, monitoring, mitigation, and reporting of all significant risks.

Develop, administer, and monitor training and precision leadership activities for the Risk Division.

Support the automation of processes.

Support risk pillar specific processes as needed.

Managerial/Supervisory Responsibilities:No managementEducation and Experience Required:Bachelor's Degree OR in lieu of degree, combined minimum 4 years higher education and/or work experience, including minimum 1 year in risk, reporting and analytics, governance, or other relevant functionProficient computer skills (including spreadsheet and word processing software), analytical skills, basic knowledge of applicable laws and written communication skills.Knowledge of SQLEducation and Experience Preferred:Effectively communicates with others throughout the Bank via phone, email or in person to obtain information necessary for the completion of reporting.Knowledge of analytics and reporting tools.Python, asp.net or other programming knowledgePhysical Requirements:NoneM&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $51,504.81 - $85,841.35 Annual (USD).
