19.64-20.91 per hour | Canandaigua, NY, USA | Hourly | Full Time The Arc Ontario Facilities Specialist Salary: $19.64 - $20.91 Position Overview: As a Facilities Specialist, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance tasks to ensure our facilities are safe, well-maintained, and functional. Your duties will include basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, lawn care, snow removal, and mechanical services, all while responding to work orders in a timely manner based on urgency. You'll work closely with the Facilities Manager to review needs, schedule repairs, and oversee subcontractors for services like snow removal, landscaping, HVAC, and capital improvements. You will also help implement preventive maintenance schedules and assist with special projects such as landscaping contracts. Additionally, you'll take on on-call responsibilities, responding to emergencies when needed and adhering to agency policies. Your role is vital in supporting the overall well-being of the people we support and maintaining an organized, safe environment for staff and visitors. Performs a variety of maintenance services on a routine and as‑needed basis to include basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, lawn maintenance, snow removal, grounds upkeep and mechanical services. Completes work orders in a timely manner, based on urgency of the need.

Meets regularly with the Facilities Manager in order to review work needs and schedule repairs.

Works with Facilities Manager to oversee work performed by sub‑contractors in areas such as snow removal, landscaping, lawn care, HVAC, residential maintenance grants, capital improvements and other as‑needed services. Assists in the bidding process for such services .

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.

HS diploma or equivalent preferred.

Two (2) years of experience in general maintenance, building trades or custodial services or an equivalent amount of education and/or experience.

Valid NYS Driver's license with a clean driving record.
