Full Stack Engineer - Futures e trading systems

Our client, a leading financial services company is hiring a Full Stack Engineer on a long-term contract basis.

• The Futures technology team manage and maintain a combination of external vendor platforms and internally developed systems. The eTrading platforms cover all areas of eTrading, from client order entry through the order messages on global exchanges, Pre & Post Trade Risk and Allocation services.
• The team spans the 3 main trading hubs (Hong Kong, New York, London), with team members in five locations (Guangzhou, Hong Kong, New York, London and Krakow).

• Involved with all phases of futures Technology projects which may include but are not limited to requirements gathering/analysis, design, architecting, project managing, development, testing and implementation.
• Provide technical support of our Futures execution stack. This will mean supporting both internal and external clients across both internal and vendor platforms and can include FIX client onboarding and certifications. You will also be responsible for incident and problem resolution and ensuring best in class service to our user base.

• The key skills we are looking for is the ability to get into detail, articulate and communicate with a ranged of stakeholders from traders, external vendors to developers and engineers.
• Experience with front office trading is highly required. Previous development skills with Java is required and Python is helpful but the most important skills we are looking for is that you are technically adept, eager to learn and adapt to new technologies, happy to challenge and be challenged

• Must have strong technical skills and have some experience with Java development. We are seeking someone with hands-on experience navigating UNIX/LINUX environments and shell scripting.
• Must have strong Futures eTrading systems and exchange connectivity experience including good knowledge and hands on experience with the FIX Protocol for client FIX certification and normalization.
• Good communication skills. Must be able to interact and work well with traders, back office personnel, vendors, futures business, other IT teams and Clients.
• Vendor system knowledge - Itiviti ULLINK, FIS Valdi, TT, Bloomberg TradeBook, Clearvision, Fidessa etc.
• Scripting experience.

• You are an excellent communicator and are comfortable communicating directly with the Sales/Trading Desk and internal Technology teams and are able to range up and down the detail depending on your audience.
