Description We are in search of an experienced General Ledger Accountant to join our team in AMHERST, New York. The successful candidate will play a significant role in maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and managing the reconciliation process. The Sr. Accountant will also be involved in preparing and posting general ledger transactions, generating financial reports, and contributing to the budgeting process.Responsibilities: Prepare, review, and post journal entries to the general ledger Conduct reconciliations for multiple companies on a regular basis and create journal entries as needed Generate financial statements for multiple companies and assist with the preparation of consolidated financial statements Analyze financial results for multiple companies, comparing them to the prior year and current year budgets Assist in the development and implementation of annual budgets Prepare, process, and distribute periodic reports and analysis Maintain Fixed Assets program for multiple companies Provide insights and recommendations based on financial performance and trends Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations Prepare and file tax returns, including but not limited to sales tax, and income tax Collaborate with other departments to provide financial support and guidance Support system upgrades and implementations as needed Assist in the continuous improvement of accounting and financial processes Participate in special projects and initiatives when requested.Requirements Possess a thorough understanding of Account Reconciliation Proficiency in Balance Sheet Reconciliation Ability to perform Bank Reconciliations Familiarity with General Ledger operations Experience in making Journal Entries Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Ability to handle Month End Close activities Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to multitask and meet deadlines Strong analytical and problem-solving skills At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.If interested, please apply online or reach out to Brooke Felgemacher on LinkedIn.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
