Sushi by Bou New Rochelle is seeking an experienced Head Omakase/Sushi Chef to join our team. If you’re passionate about sushi, committed to excellence, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy setting, we want to hear from you. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a skilled culinary team and elevate the guest dining experience. Candidates should be open to travel and available to work a consistent 5-day schedule.
Compensation: $75k+, depending on experience
Responsibilities:
Recruit, train, and supervise Sushi Chefs and Prep Chefs
Foster a positive, collaborative team environment; achieve 5-star feedback from staff in quarterly reviews
Train staff on food safety and hygiene; hold a valid Food Safety Manager Certificate and ensure all chefs have current Food Handler Certificates
Deliver consistent 5-star food quality and service
Ensure quality and portion control, manage inventory, and maintain menu item availability
Collaborate with management to maintain food costs within monthly targets
Maintain a clean, organized kitchen in full compliance with health regulations
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or Head Chef
Strong leadership and team management skills
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, fine-dining environment
