Duties Description The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) offers nutrition education, breastfeeding support, referrals, and a variety of nutritious foods to low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, infants, and children up to age five to promote and support good health. The Information Systems Management Section (ISMS) within the Bureau of Supplemental Food Programs (BSFP) is responsible for the business oversight of systems related to WIC including the WIC management information system (NYWIC) and DataMart, and other supporting systems and software. This position is within the Change Management team and will act as a liaison to coordinate and facilitate communication and information gathering between various types of business and technical partners. The incumbent will be involved in the learning, understanding, and documenting of the business processes and needs in relation to how the business utilizes the system. This position will be responsible to review business system change requests, facilitate the determination of priority, and collaborate with the technical vendors to ensure system changes meet the business need. This may involve assisting with scope definition, tracking of timelines, and participating and coordinating in system and user testing. Additional responsibilities include the development and maintenance of policies and procedures and review of systems vendor documentation.The incumbent will be responsible for several written and verbal communications, such as creating meeting agendas, facilitate meeting/sessions, taking meeting notes, and tracking and following up on action items. Other communications include providing technical assistance, conducting presentations, providing written guidance in the form of informational emails, WIC Watch articles, etc. for internal, WIC local agency, and Department of Health regional office staff.
