Twin Village Recycling in Depew, NY is seeking a full-time heavy duty mechanic responsible for assembling, maintaining and repairing large engines, vehicles and machinery. This position diagnoses and repairs problems quickly to help reduce company expenses and ensure a safe working environment.Required Qualifications: Minimum of 1 year experience in the field; excellent knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical and other systems and their components; aptitude in using various hand tools and precision measurement tools; strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines; ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instructions and blueprints; physical strength and stamina commensurate with the work required. Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship; valid certification (e.g., ASE)Responsibilities:Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair machines, engines and mechanical systems to ensure functionality and reliabilityPerform thorough preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment and systemsBuild/assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirementsInspect machines, engines, transmissions etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issuesConduct repairs aiming for maximum reliabilityResolve reported problems in a timely mannerTest and adjust repaired engines, machines and systems to ensure proper operationClean and apply lubricants to machinery componentsReplenish fluids and components of engines and machineryProvide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle usersKeep required logs and records of work completed and scheduled maintenanceOrder parts as needed to maintain stockAttend and participate in scheduled training and safety programs, as directedMaintain a clean and safe workplace, ensuring that safety is the highest priorityUndertake other duties as assigned (e.g., repair of hydraulic systems, painting vehicles etc.)
