The IT Help Desk Support Specialist position is for individuals that possess a solid foundation in computer systems as well as a foundation in IT fundamentals and their implementations. It is intended for those who have experience working and interacting within a corporate environment. Essential Job Functions • Coordinates investigations to resolve information system issues • Conducts research to understand, explain and resolve technology issues • Communicates updates to users that have been or may be affected by a problem • Follows up with users after problems have been resolved • Utilizes help desk tracking software to present recommendations and improvements for user systems • Initiates onboarding procedures for new users into the system • Ensures response times are quick and effective to appropriately resolve requests • Coordinates referrals to technical, professional or service personnel depending on the repair, training, service or software issues Basic Job Skills • Trouble shooting skills • Ability to foster teamwork • Decision-making skills • Oral and written communication skills • Ability to identify and seek needed information/research skills • Technical expertise • Ability to positively communicate and collaborate with their customer base in all situations and cases
