- Proactively lead the Infrastructure Operations and Security team to develop and deliver effective solutions with minimum business interruption
- Plan, organize, and oversee the timely and quality implementation of projects and deliverables
- Monitor and continually evaluate the network and systems performance across the enterprise including planning, designing, installing, configuring, and optimizing all local and wide area networks, VoIP, Internet, and other data communication platforms
- Maintain and improve upon the Institute’s network health management system that continually monitors network load and performance
- Oversee and support all current server hardware, software, cloud, and virtualization platforms both locally and in an offsite datacenter
- Support all existing server software and licensing, including Microsoft Windows Server, Ubuntu linux, databases, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Office 365, VMware, Kubernetes, and Cloud Services
- Ensure all critical data is adequately backed up, replicated, protected, archived to tape, and recoverable (including all databases), utilizing Veeam
- Ensure that Veeam replication to client’s DR site is functioning and that it meets the RPO and RTO requirements
- Ensure that the backup/replication and tape infrastructure runs error-free and reliably
- Oversee the selection, design, and implementation of systems and patch management tools and processes
- Ensure all systems are current with applicable security patches and anti-virus updates
- Security management, including client’s ISMS and PCI compliance
- Responsible for ensuring the secure operation of all systems in the enterprise
- Research products and solutions, collaborate with vendors, and implement solutions that meet the needs of the business while maintaining security standards
- Oversee the review of security dashboards, system configurations, alerts, and logs to detect and respond to vulnerabilities or suspicious activity
- Oversee vulnerability management, documentation, and remediation:
- Perform ongoing penetration testing and vulnerability scans (internal and external)
- Creation and maintenance of an incident response plan and security policies. Test plan annually
- 24x7 response to security alerts
- Address security concerns and manage the remediation process
- Develop plans and propose budgets to successfully complete approved projects
- Provision and identify, and propose partnerships with key IT suppliers, licenses and contracts, vendors and consultant organizations
- Evaluate and recommend hardware, and packaged software
- Ensure CRM and ADFS infrastructure and network availability in all client’s environments
- Ensure 7x24 hours network and system uptime, and availability by implementing preventative maintenance schedule and network support
- Ensure that all computer and network hardware and operating systems are upgraded and kept up to date
- Implement and support enterprise-wide systems that service all aspects of client’s businesses
- Ensure high availability of client’s technology solutions running in the production environment (primarily servers, OS, network, storage)
- Ensure that Infrastructure issues that are reported through JIRA Service Desk are addressed.
- Ensure that end user issues that are reported through JIRA Service Desk are addressed.
- Oversee the Institute’s ISO/IEC 27001 management system and PCI DSS compliance
- Ability to act as a "public-facing" team member who can effectively partner with department stakeholders, gather business requirements, and develop and execute solutions
- Champion continuous process improvement, performance management, and metrics-driven results
- Develop and maintain documentation of system policies, procedures, and configurations
- Attend/complete assigned information security training by the designated completion date
- Read and adhere to published ISMS policies and procedures
- Report timely any observed violations of ISMS policy - or known encroachments on information security - to your department leader and/or the Information Technology Department
- Prior experience managing an IT Operations team is required
- Industry-standard certifications strongly preferred
- Network architecture design and implementation strongly preferred:
- Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) (e.g., Rackspace, etc.)
- Platform as a Service (PaaS) (e.g., MS Azure, AWS, etc.)
- Software as a Service (SaaS) (e.g., Salesforce, etc.)
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of network and system security (including vulnerabilities and exploits) required:
- Firewalls, IPS\IDS, penetration testing
- Internal and external vulnerability scanning and remediation
- Security monitoring, analysis, and collection tools
- Experience with Windows Server 2016, 2019+ Active Directory and Group Policies required
- Demonstrated Windows performance tuning and troubleshooting skills required
- Demonstrated linux implementation and troubleshooting skills required
- Windows Server Administration to include Active Directory, SQL, and IIS technologies required
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365 is required
- Windows networking with Microsoft Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016/2019 required
- Experience with using Windows PowerShell or unix/linux shell scripting to automate tasks
- System deployment life cycle and change management methodologies required; Agile preferred
- General Internet concepts knowledge (Web, DNS, SMTP, FTP, Search engines) required
- Networking (TCP/IP, IP addressing) and Telecommunications experience required
- Supporting various mobile operating systems (iOS, Android) required
- Manage imaging technologies for system deployment required
- Experience with remote access technologies (Remote Desktop Services, VDI) required
- Manage Network security concepts (Patch Management, Anti-Malware) required
- Must be able to maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade computers independently
- Must be able to install and upgrade applications and software as required independently
- General knowledge of accounting, payroll, financial, and HRIS systems is strongly preferred
- Able to assist non-technical people in solving technical problems required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in an infrastructure related area, during which both professional and tactical capabilities have been demonstrated, is required
- 10+ years IT management experience in a large IT environment (500+ servers)
- 5+ years of packet level IP protocol analysis and troubleshooting
- 2 Years of SAN management
- 8+ years of process management experience
- 3+ years managing a Kubernetes environment utilizing Rancher is required
- Microsoft and Cisco systems certification desired
- Very strong project management skills with 5+ years of experience managing large scale projects
- 5+ years designing and administering very complex networks comprised of Microsoft Windows and IP protocols
- Must be a self-starter with a burning desire to excel and broaden the scope of enterprise class infrastructure design and administration
- Proven hands-on technical leadership abilities with demonstrable experience working in a broad range of environments
- An effective manager with excellent team leadership skills
- Ability to work under stress with time-critical deadlines and expectations
- Excellent writing skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively
- Excellent analytical ability, sound judgment and management skills, and the ability to work effectively with customers, IT management and managers from all business areas of the Institute
