IT Business Analyst

Our direct client in the financial industry is in need of an IT Business Analyst, for a contract to hire role in their NYC office. The technology focused business analyst will support solutions software and analyzing business operations processing. Candidates will help bridge gap between business process and technology solutions to help create efficiencies or improve processes. Candidates will work heavily with application development team, key business stakeholders and IT engineering teams to assist in solution building and process documenting. Candidates will work with other members in the business analyst group to maintain BA document library such as functional specs and business process requirement document. Candidates will work with data sets to produce reports and dashboards to provide information to stakeholders.

• Analyze business requirements and processes through document analysis, interviews, workshops and workflow analysis.
• Communicate client's business requirements
• Engage business groups to gather software requirements, business rules and ensure alignment with development and support team.
• Draft and maintain business requirements and align them with functional and technical requirements
• Work with project managers in developing implementation plans, including the scheduling of project milestones
• Create systems models, specifications, diagrams and charts to provide direction to developers and system architects.
• Collaborate, identify and document existing business processes and workflows.
• Participate in the demand management process to assist the business in establishing business cases relating to new systems or existing system changes.
• Work with the technology project manager, technology architects and business sponsors to define metrics and performance goals for the applications.
• Liaison among stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements for changes to the business processes, policies and information systems.
• Identify business process improvement opportunities, promote and monitor technology adoption throughout the firm.
• Analyze processes and data to identify gaps or perform process or data mapping.
• Data Analysis and Dashboard building for stakeholder views.

• BS / BA in a relevant discipline (Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, etc.) and 10 years of experience in related fields.
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to write policies, procedures and recovery plans.
• Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, presentation, written / verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to perform analytical work, such as impact assessments and risk assessments, including but not limited to business impact analyses.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills - facilitating, negotiating, influencing etc.
• Excellent interviewing, listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Strong business requirement gathering/documenting skills.
• Strong facilitation, active listening, and interpersonal skills.
