Title: Disease Surveillance IT Portfolio ManagerPosition Type: ContractLocation: Long Island City, NY, United StatesDescription: Specifically, the Disease Surveillance IT Portfolio Manager will: • Manage a portfolio of disease surveillance system projects with guidance from senior staff. Use knowledge of project management, grant financial management and identify and mitigate portfolio risk • Assist with creating a governance structure, developing performance measures, designing a tool to help collect data and developing reports on the performance of all projects within the portfolio. • Understand all aspects of the grant including all business and technology objectives. • Work alongside the Division of Disease Control, as well as units within the Division of Information Technology, such as IT Security, Network Technology Services and the Bureau of IT Strategy and Project Management to ensure that all projects, resources and asset purchases are meeting grant requirements and deadlines. • Work alongside the Solution Director within the Bureau of IT Strategy and Project Management managing the disease surveillance technology portfolio to ensure that all projects within the grant are implemented on time and on budget. • Design performance measures and identifying ways to track and report on all indicators.Qualifications and Requirements: • At least 5 years of experience in IT portfolio management, as well as management of grant funding. • Experience with stakeholder engagement and project management. • Excellent communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills. • Strong analytical skills and ability to manage and report complex information. • Experience with data collection, analysis, and interpretation. Experience with writing queries in SQL. • Desire to grow professionally, develop new skills and willingness to work outside of comfort zone. • Experience working with the public health sector and coordinating projects involving multiple stakeholders. • Ability to prioritize and work in fast-paced environment with hard deadlines. • Fluency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, and PowerPoint.
