A leading utility provider located in New York, NY is looking for an IT Project Manager for a 6-12 month contract.

Some onsite work is required throughout the life of the contract, and is likely to increase over time. Local candidates only

To be considered for this position, the client has advised that upon placement, consultants will be required to wear a mask under certain circumstances, show proof of full vaccination or submit on a weekly basis proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR diagnostic test

Requirements and skills

  • Experience dealing with large scale ERP/Vendor implementations.
  • Experience with IT procurement including contracting, vendor management, legal support etc.
  • Must have prior experience working in Energy/Utility business (at-least five years).
  • Must have prior experience with EAM (Asset and Work Management) solutions (IBM Maximo, CGI ARM).
  • Excellent analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of project management principles and planning.
  • Thorough understanding of information technology procedures and practices.

Preferred Skills

  • Utility experience is highly desirable
  • Exposure to software development, managing developers and offshore team oversight

Responsibilities

  • Manages assigned IT projects to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope of project.
  • Develops, maintains, and revises proposals for assigned projects including project objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, timelines, funding, and staffing.
  • Sets and tracks project milestones; manages and accounts for unforeseen delays, then realigns schedules and expectations as needed.
  • Establishes and implements project communication plans, providing status updates to affected staff and stakeholders.
  • Collects, analyzes, and summarizes information and trends as needed to prepare project status reports.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
