A leading NYC academic medical center is looking for an IT Security Risk Analyst for a contract to hire role in NYC.

  • Minimum 5 years experience required (preferred Technology-focused)
  • Technology Audit / compliance experience required.
  • Computer Science / Engineering background preferred.
  • Healthcare sector experience preferred, but may be from other sectors as well
  • Strong communicator with great attentional to detail
  • Knowledge of common information security management frameworks, such as International Standards Organization (ISO) 17799/27001, Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology (CobiT) and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) framework;
  • Understanding of basic network and system architecture in order to troubleshoot technical problems;
  • Ability to work independently and with other teams when needed to troubleshoot problems;
  • Capacity to learn new software and become proficient to provide support.

Responsibilities

  • The IT Security Risk Analyst will perform the day-to-day product support operations for the IT Security group existing tools and security risk assessment.
  • The Analyst is expected to be fully aware of the enterprises security goals as established by its stated policies, procedures, and guidelines and to actively work towards upholding those goals.
  • Perform security risk assessments with a focus on existing and new systems that affect clinical care, against the HIPAA, HITECH, and Meaningful Use requirements.
  • Create assessment reports and track remediation activities
  • Review and recommend Data Security contractual provisions for vendor solutions
  • Organize and manage assigned projects, status report and documentation
  • Work on assigned service tickets and provide timely resolutions
  • Provide Compliance and Regulatory evidence for audit reporting
  • Monitor all in-place security solutions for efficient and appropriate operations
  • Assist with the documentation of policies, standards, and operational processes
  • Keep up-to-date on related regulations and industry best practices
