Your RoleThe consultant will support the treasury applications for a Japanese corporate bank. This bank interfaces with various internal/external applications in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Tokyo Head Office. Treasury applications include derivatives, FX (Spot, Forward, Option and Swap), security, bond and money market businesses. Business users of the bank operate FX trading/booking, derivatives management through the treasury applications.As a consultant, you’ll be playing an important role in handling inquiries from business users who are mainly in North America and conducting system maintenance. You may be in charge of supporting the planning and implementation of treasury applications in coordination with technical teams (NY/Tokyo) and business departments. CAC is working from home temporarily due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the consultant will be working on-site at our client's office in Manhattan when the office reopens. Your role may require occasional overtime work.

Responsibilities
  • Handling daily deliverables including business user inquiries, production issues and on-going application maintenance activities.
  • Identifying incident root cause and corrective actions, and participating in developing solutions in coordination with technical teams and business departments.
  • Taking leadership in owning issue resolution and driving them to completion
  • Liaising with other technical teams and business departments in order to resolve issues being reported
  • Focusing on continual service improvement. Continually analyze incoming requests and determine potential efficiencies
  • Acting as a consultant with technical expertise who is the main contact from business users. Business users are included treasury front/back office, payment, risk management department, etc.
  • Meeting with business users to gather requirements including facilitating discussions and necessary follow-ups to close all outstanding questions and concerns.
  • Developing use cases with the business and assisting to ensure the proper tests are completed such as UAT.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders’ cross-functionally on projects to assist the creation of business requirement documents.

About You

Required qualifications:
  • Business level verbal and written communication skills in both Japanese and English are required. (Strong verbal and written communication skills.)
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or a related field preferred but not required.
  • More than 5 years of specialized experience managing IT projects in international banking environment.
  • Basic knowledge of treasury business (all of or either treasury front, middle and/or back operation) in banking industry
  • Advanced knowledge of financial products including but not limited to Money, CD, CP, Time Deposit, Facility, Security Trade, Security Inventory, Derivative, FX (Spot, Forward, Option and Swap), Repo, Reverse Repo and Collateral.
  • Hands on experience with Database (Oracle & SQL Server)
  • Acts as a consultant with technical expertise who is handling inquiries/issues from business users such as treasury front/back office, payment, and risk management.
  • Ability to work on cross-functional teams in a fast-paced development environment.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Back-office business analysis and design experience including payment, settlement, cash flow, accounting and reconciliation is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of project management methodology/SDLC processes in IT financial services environments is a plus.

Pay: D.O.E.

Work Schedule: 8-hour shift, some overtime
