Kelly Science and Clinical is actively recruiting for a short-term contractor to fill a laboratory assistant role in the Melville NY area. This is the perfect opportunity for someone in between employment or seeking short-term lab-related work. Lab experience is not necessarily required, but able to work in a fast-paced environment as well as multi-task. Please see the details below:
Position: Lab Assistant
Project length: 3-6 months
Pay rate: $18/hr
Requirements: HS Diploma or GED. Exposure to a lab environment/previous lab experience (academically or professionally) a plus, but not required. Ideal candidate is someone who is hardworking, reliable, and able to work well independently.
Job Duties: Basic lab task such as grinding or preparing samples, preparing solutions or media, cleaning lab equipment, arranging specimens and samples on trays to be placed in incubators and refrigerators.
Environment: Candidate should expect to be on their feet for all/most of the shift. Occasional lifting up to 40 pounds.
Schedule: Mon-Fri, weekend rotation as needed. 2 nd shift (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM), may include first shift for training.
