SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the General Manager and Foreman, the responsibilities of the Laser Operator
include loading and unloading of material, programing, running, and managing multiple machines
simultaneously. Laser Operators assist other departments in developing manufacturing solutions, and
prepare parts for fabricators and clients, as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform typical laser cutting operations with a variety of metals including steel, aluminum &
stainless steel.
Will be responsible to manufacture parts per engineering drawings, sketches, work orders, or verbal
instructions.
Select proper cutting programs, adjust beam focal point & set cutting conditions.
Work includes programing, set-up, loading – unloading, and testing of machines to achieve
finished parts within required tolerance.
Work with engineers, fabricators and draftsmen to assist in the fabrication of multi-component parts.
Operate forklifts, hoists, hand power tools, slings other tools related to the job’s needs.
May need to instruct other employees to maintain and operate machines for large operations.
Inspect and correct components as necessary to meet product specifications.
Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, engineering drawings, and/or work orders.
Willingness to cross-train and perform the work of other job tasks in addition to the primary assigned
position.
Inspect equipment to maintain functionality; if any equipment needs repairs notify
supervisor/lead or maintenance personnel.
Determine if all parts for a project/order are present.
Perform a variety of complicated tasks, as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be familiar with the operations of CNC flat laser & tube laser machines, and willing to learn new
machines & software.
Ability to understand diagrams, read blueprints, and/or interpret other printed instructional material as it
applies to production.
Must be thoroughly familiar with capabilities and limitations imposed by various processes, and able
to adapt and overcome these in order to produce required parts.
Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Demonstrate willingness to work with others in a team environment.
Positive, willingness to learn and participate in a changing environment to reach a common goal.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED required.
Minimum of one year manufacturing experience or related field.
Minimum of one year laser operator experience.
Experience with tape measures/calipers and blueprint reading skills are a must.
