Avangrid is seeking a

Lead Advisor SP&C Training

to join their team in their Johnson City, NY location.

Designs, develops and presents technical training programs for Substation Protection & Control (SP&C). Determines training and orientation needs for new department/division employees. Develops and conducts additional advanced technical training for incumbent operations staff.

Major Roles and Respo

nsibilities

1. Identifies, develops, implements and conducts advanced technical training for applicable incumbents that will address the future needs of the corporation (30%, P)

2. Develops and establishes standardized test procedures and performance-based technical training programs that will build on trainee knowledge, skills, expertise, and reliability. (50%, P)

3. Provides consultation and support to applicable department/employees by analyzing technical training needs and developing programs and reports that will assist with problem solving. (20%, S)

Skills and Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree with minimum of three years relevant SP&C experience preferred OR Associates Degree with minimum five years relevant SP&C experience OR High School/GED with the completion of relevant progression program and 10 years relevant SP&C experience required.
  • Extensive knowledge of accessing and programming micro-processor based protection relays, transmission and distribution protection schemes, and setting up and troubleshooting SCADA systems.
  • Knowledge of transmission and distribution equipment and protection systems.
  • Experience in working in formal management system.
