We are seeking a highly skilled Metal Finishing Lead for our finishing team. This is a hands-on role that involves performing advanced finishing techniques, including surface prep, HVLP spray painting, and patina work. The Lead will also work with the Shop Manager on organizational and leadership duties, such as coordinating the finishing production schedule, ensuring all work is completed on time and to the highest quality standards, and ensuring the department has the tools and supplies needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES - METAL FINISHING LEAD

Hands-On Finishing: Perform metal finishing duties, such as HVLP spray painting, chasing, surface prep, patina, and polishing.

Administration: Maintain the materials and consumables inventory, manage the sample process, and other duties related to departmental efficiency.

Production Management: Work with the Shop Manager to ensure deadlines are met and clients’ expectations are exceeded.

QUALIFICATIONS - METAL FINISHING LEAD

Experience: Minimum 5 years of metal finishing experience, preferably in the architectural or high-end metalwork industry.

Leadership Skills: Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to keep a team on task and anticipate issues.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in surface preparation techniques, adept with HVLP spray painting and clear coating, patina application, polishing, and other metal finishing techniques. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.

Attention to Detail:Meticulous and quality-driven approach to finishing work, with a passion for delivering exceptional results.

Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot finishing issues and adjust techniques to achieve the desired finish.

Ability to carry out tasks with minimal supervision with a high degree of thoroughness and attention to detail.

Ability to communicate clearly and in an effective and professional manner.

Positive attitude and the ability to work well with others.

Ability to sit, stand, crouch, bend, climb ladders regularly throughout the day and for long periods.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - METAL FINISHING LEAD

Stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.

Lift and move up to 50 lbs.

Bend, reach, and work with hands and arms continuously.

Use PPE and work around fumes, dust, and chemicals.

Perform visual inspections and work in a moderately noisy shop environment.
